Rooted in Barnet (RIB) – Terms & Conditions for Listing
Welcome to the Rooted in Barnet movement!
By submitting your information, creative profile, venue details, or event to our platform (www.rootedinbarnet.com), you agree to the following terms and conditions.
These guidelines help us keep the platform beautiful, fast, and accurate for the entire community.
1. Requirements for Profiling (Creatives & Venues)
To be featured in our directory, you agree to provide accurate and complete information following our formatting rules:
• Identification: Your name (or business/stage name) and your specific location within the London Borough of Barnet (town/ward).
• The "Short & Sweet" Rule: A maximum of 30 words about who you are and what you do. RIB reserves the right to edit descriptions that exceed this limit to maintain a consistent website layout.
• Links: A link to your website and social media handles (please specify your preferred primary link for us to display).
• Profile Images: You must upload an image in Portrait format (4:5 ratio), under 1MB in size, and in JPEG or PNG format.
2. Requirements for Submitting Events
We love shouting about what’s happening in the borough! To feature your upcoming event, you must provide:
• Event Details: Title, Date, Time, and precise Location/Address.
• Brief Description: A maximum of 30 words explaining the event.
• Web Link: A relevant web or ticket link for your audience.
• Notice Period: To give our team time to review, upload, and promote your event, we ask for a minimum of two (2) weeks' advance notice whenever possible. Late submissions are not guaranteed to be published.
3. Media Assets & Social Media Promotion
To help us create high-quality, professional content (such as Reels, posts, and stories) to promote your event across our social platforms, the following media rules apply:
• Promotional Images: Please upload high-resolution images. To ensure images are crisp enough for social media editing while remaining web-friendly, they must be between 1MB and 5MB maximum, in JPEG or PNG format (ideally at least 2000px on the shortest side).
• Portfolios & Video Content: To keep our platform running efficiently, we do not accept direct video or heavy portfolio file uploads. All video content and artist portfolios must be shared via a web link (e.g., YouTube, Vimeo, Instagram, or cloud links like Google Drive, Dropbox, or WeTransfer).
• Tip: For the best chance of being featured in our video Reels and Stories, we highly recommend providing vertical (9:16) video clips within your shared links.
4. Content Permission & Copyright
By submitting text, images, or videos to Rooted in Barnet:
• You confirm that you own the copyright to the materials or have explicit permission from the copyright owner to share them. You agree that RIB is not liable for any copyright infringement caused by user-submitted media.
• Social Media & Website Gathering: You grant Rooted in Barnet explicit permission to access your public website and public social media channels to gather additional high-quality content, photos, or updates to enhance your listing and promote you on our official channels.
• Promotional License: You grant RIB a free, non-exclusive license to use, display, and share your submitted media on our website, newsletters, and social media platforms for the purpose of promoting you, your events, and the Barnet cultural movement.
5. Right to Decline or Remove
Rooted in Barnet is a curated, community-focused platform. We reserve the right to edit, refuse, or remove any profile or event submission at our absolute discretion if the content is deemed inaccurate, inappropriate, low-quality, offensive, or outside the scope of our borough-wide mission.
6. Privacy & Data Handling
The personal information you provide will be stored securely and used solely for the purpose of managing your listing, contacting you about your feature, and sending occasional RIB community updates. We will never sell your data to third parties.
